DAY TO DAY, NIGHT TO NIGHT
2018
135 x 158 cm each
Created during a residency at Seoul Geumcheon Art Space in collaboration with sound artist Dominic Khoo, the pair of paintings "Day to Day, Night to Night" is a reflection of day and night living in a city plagued by air pollution. Using face masks as a medium and sound recordings collected from the streets, these works evoke the mood and atmosphere of Seoul that was blanketed with haze. The sound recordings added an extra layer to the pieces, inviting viewers to contemplate the negative effects of pollution on our physical and mental well-being.
